June 5th – 9th Swedish boys team LF Future U16 spent in Lithuania. During five days in our country, they played eight games, visited final Lithuanian Basketball league final game in Vilnius, enjoyed beach of Lampedziai, purchased Kaunas “Žalgiris” souvenirs and took a walk in Kaunas Old Town.
In eight games they played, team won three matches and suffered five defeats. Level of opponents were different: from top ten teams in Lithuania to year younger boys team. Coach of LF Future boys U16 Jan Johansson was happy, that his players had opportunity to play with strong opponents, to see the style of other players and understand that they still have a lot of rooms for improvement.
On Saturday all the team LF Future went to Vilnius. First of all they played game with Vilnius BS team, after this had a tour of the Old Town. Finally, the bus came to arena of Vilnius “Lietuvos Rytas”. Swedes were lucky went to this final game, especially after victory of Kauno “Žalgiris” they saw how Lithuanian celebrate ending of he Lithuanian basketball league season and how fans met “Žalgiris” in their town – Kaunas.
Coming from North of Sweden, LF Future boys were happy of summery weather. They spent a fun time in the beach of Lampedziai.
Finally, played all games, on Tuesday morning LF Future team go back to Sweden.
“We are very satisfied with their visit, – said coach J. Johansson. – Not only gained a new experience on the basketball court, but got much more…I’m satisfied with everything: accommodation, level of opponents and communication. I hope to stay in touch”.
