June 2 – 7 BC Lulea (Sweden) visited Lithuania. Lulea is a city called the basketball capital of Sweden. There are both men and women’s teams playing at all basketball levels.
Second year in a row Lulea chooses Lithuania for their basketball camp and was very satisfied with it. I five day Lulea boys born in 1999 played eight games with different level teams, visited Kaunas, Palanga, Klaipėda also had an opportunity to watch LKL final games Klaipėdos “Neptūnas” vs Kauno “Žalgiris”
Swedes not only played and watched basketball, but also walked in Palanga beach and the bravest swam in the Baltic Sea. After trip to the West Lithuania, BC Lulea came back to the basketball capital of Lithuania – Kaunas. They played four games here, but unfortunately all lost. One of the most excited moment of all trip – final game Kauno “Žalgiris” vs Klaipėdos “Neptūnas”. The same as last year, Swedes celebrated “Žalgiris” victory together with “green – white” crowd of fans.
The coach of team BC Lulea Jan Johansson was satisfied with this visit: “We came here to learn from you, to watch how you play basketball and to gain more experience. Last year our team was stronger, but we lost few players who start their practices in National basketball school. But, anyway, we were satisfied had an opportunity return to Lithuania!
