August 25th, 2018 sport events agency together with Lithuanian basketball Federation and “Tornado” basketball school organized Viči party Calzone 3×3 basketball tournament which finished Girls’ U16 European Basketball Championship.
There were 47 teams and nearly 100 participants in the 6 age groups. Almost 100 shooter tried to win smart phone in the Xiaomi shooting competition. All the winners were awarded by Lithuanian Basketball Federation, Viči, Xiaomi and Vitir-on prizes.
8 teams from Kaunas, Jonava and Panevėžys competed in the age group of men born in 2001 and elder. After winning all games, gold medals won team – 4 koronos (Edvinas Kurlinkus, Radvydas Sebecka, Arminas Balčiūnas and Šarūnas Stiklakis). The second place went to team – 60 and the bronze medals won “Šančių Šiurpas”.
11 teams from Kaunas, Panevėžys, Kėdainiai and Kretingalė participated in category 2002 – 2003. The strongest team was – Mamba from Kaunas (Kostas Čepavičius, Laurynas Virbalas, Paulius Bacevičius and Kristupas Bartuška). Only in two points they won against silver medalists from Panevežys – “Gerą mesk”. The third place in one point won team from Kėdainiai – “Pintikliuškos”.
Seven teams from Kaunas and one from Alytus participated in age group 2004 – 2005. At the highest step of pedestal climbed up local team – „Kreivarankiai“ (Petras Padegimas, Kajus Kblickas and Žygimantas Sabaliauskas). Silver medals went to basketball players from Alytus – „Atsipūtę“ and bronze medals won team „Olimpas“ from Kaunas.
Ten teams were registered in group 2006 – 2007. After winning all games, the winners of this group became team from Klaipėda – “Triple Threat” (Paulius Narvilas, Marijus Mmiškinis, Matas Motiejaitis and Aredas Dziuba). Team “Troliai” from Kaunas won second place and bronze medals went to “Fantastic four”.
Five teams from Kaunas and Vilnius participated in the most youngest basketball players, born in 2008, age group. After subgroup games, strongest teams went to final. After tough fight, gold medals went to AMG team from Vilnius. “Vaikų Žalgiriukai” from Kaunas won second place, and bronze medals went to “Nenugalimieji”.
Not only boys’ teams participated in Viči Party Calzone 3×3 basketball tournament. There were four teams from Kaunas, Utena and Panevėžys of girls born in 2004. After very tough final game, team “Gevka” from Utena celebrated golden victory. Silver medals went to “4 kalnai” from Kaunas and finally “Kiauras nuo lentos” from Jonava was awarded by bronze medals.
All the winners were awarded by sponsor prizes – Mi band 2 smart bands, vitamins by Vitir-on, production by Viči, tickets to game of Lithuanian National team and also medals and cups.
Probably the most interesting event during the tournament was Xiaomi shooter contest. Mi A2 lite smartphone was promised for the winner of this contest. Almost 100 participant registered to this event. All of them had to shoot three times from five spots. Four players went to final stage – Daugirdas Šeputis (2009), Rokas Tiškus (2003), Radvydas Sebecka (1997) and Matas Makauskas (2002). After two players finished their show, M. Makauskas and R. Sebecka left to fight for Mi A2 lite phone. After long and very tough fight, R. Sebecka finally won Xiaomi shooter conest and was awarded by Mi A2 lite phone. All other finalists also were awarded by consolation prizes.
“We are really happy had such a great event, – said director of sport events agency “Tstar” Dainius Čiuprinskas. – we organized such an event for a first time, so was a little bit scary that players won’t be back after summer camps, but the efforts made have paid off. Even though the weather wasn’t really good, we saw a lot of smiles, good mood and emotional spectators. I think this could turn into a traditional tournament, but we’ll focus on that next year”.
